WRITE MORE POETRY is an artistic experiment created by poet Regina Williams. The goal behind WRITE MORE POETRY is simple– we want the general public to write more and read more! It can be so easy to slip into a scrolling cycle, and we want to help end that. We should become creators, not just consumers!
Regina Williams was born June 17, 1999 in Shreveport, Louisiana to a home that reveled in the arts. Her mother and father were both vocalists. Her father played piano with his mother and they organized a gospel band called “Glory Train” back in 1999. Inspired by their creativity, Regina leaned more toward the literature side of art and began writing poetry when she was ten years old. She has written three books, The Words I Planted In Persephone’s Garden, To Love While Black is to Riot, and Read This Like a Eulogy. Each book was written during a very important time in her life and reflect the current climate of the year in which it was published.
Here at WRITE MORE POETRY, we want to encourage everyone– yes, everyone– to write to their heart’s content. Here’s what you need to do to begin in two steps:
1) CREATE! Write something that comes from the heart.
2) SUBMIT! Go to our “contact” page and send in your work! It will be reviewed for appropriateness and we’ll post it to the site. If your poem is absolutely outstanding, you may win Poet of the Week and your work will be on the homepage for seven days! When you submit, please include whether or not you want your name listed on the “poets” section of the website. Due to copyright, we don’t host anonymous poets at this time. However, writing under a pseudonym is perfectly fine!
Thank you for visiting WRITE MORE POETRY! Read more, write more!
